How BuckHound Labels Price Context

A straightforward look at how tracked ranges and short windows turn into the labels you see in BuckHound.

Price Tracking5 min readOctober 2025

You might wonder how we label price context in BuckHound. Here's how it works.

The Goal

Show observed price data only, with no predictions or guesswork.

What We Use

1. Tracking Period

We label how long an item has been tracked so you always know the window of observation.

2. Observed Range

We calculate the highest and lowest observed prices during your tracking period.

3. Current Position

We show where today's price sits inside that observed range.

4. Last Checked

Every price check is timestamped so you know when it was observed.

5. Retailer Details

We include availability and listing quality from the retailer to provide context.

What We Don't Do

No Forecasts

We do not predict future prices or timing.

No Commission Bias

Affiliate commissions never influence labels or ordering.

No Savings Promises

We provide context, not guarantees.

Transparency

If we don't have enough data yet, we say so. Your tracking period is always visible.
